The Real-time Computer Usage Monitoring System
HIK launched a graphic, on-line Computer Usage Monitoring System that can be seen on projectors (ground floor of HIK) and can be downloaded from HIK intranet and internet.
On the graphic surface you can check the opening hours of the rooms and can get information about the availability of the computers also.
You can find a textual description of the computer availability in the lower left corner of the screen either about the whole of the institute or about the different floors of the building. (The counting of the data is made on the basis of the capacity of the rooms open.)
The status of the workstations is marked with different colours (red - occupied, green - available, grey - out of use). On the animation the levels are constantly changed in every 30 seconds.
The Computer Usage Monitoring System can be reached through our website or from the menu on the left side.
To see the surface of the availability system you need flash player and a screen of 1024x768 resolution.
Automatic Computer Usage Time Monitoring System
HIK General Terms and Conditions - that is accepted by signing it during the registration process - permits the server (HIK) (GC 57.§) to fix the time limit of computer usage when HIKs computer availability reaches a critical point.
The limitation for the computer usage does not apply at all times. It is switched on (or off) according to the automatic availability control depending on the users number in HIK. The system records continuously the computer usage of the users in HIK and reacts the possible changes by this data.
So that our users could plan their activities as they previously wished, and could save their documents on time, HIK provides information on the start of the limitation in time. When you arrive, you can get information on the projector (ground floor of HIK) or any of the computers in the rooms of HIK (when signing in or use) informs you with a message about the limitation and about the fact that this function was switched on.
In the message the system informs the users previously logged in, about the minutes left out of their time-frame.
If the user has exhausted the time-frame before the introduction of the limitation, or has short time left (within 15 minutes), the system will provide them and extra 15 minutes so that the user could finish the documents and save them. In this case the system will also inform the user with a message. This message will be sent to those users who reach the limit of 2 hours and 45 minutes during the limitation.
The system, parallel to the appearance of the last reminder (5 minutes before the end of your time limit), starts to count back visible for the user also. At the end of the countdown the system log out the user who will not be able to log in until the end of the limitation.
Those users who have used up their daily time limit, can use HIK computers if the daily limitation is released on the given day.
The system starts from base mode (full time frame - 3 hours) every morning. The time you spent in HIK (that is the basis for the counting of the time limitation) is added up, that is, if you leave the building or the computer and log in again, the system will consider the sum of the time you spent. The time when you lock your computer or leave your seat is also counted as the part of your computer use. Namely, the system counts your time from the time of log-in to the time of log-out, that is, we do not start counting from the time when you entered HIK at the gates. Therefore, our users do not need to leave the building after their time limit has expired. |
